Permission granted to extend opening hours at the Old Glass Factory, Cork Street
Dublin City Council has granted permission for extended opening hours, signage, and outdoor seating at the café/restaurant unit at Liberties House, Cork Street, Dublin 8.
Dublin City Council has granted permission for amended opening hours at the ground-floor café/restaurant unit at Liberties House, on the site of the Old Glass Factory at Cork Street, Dublin 8.
The unit had been vacant since late 2025. An earlier condition required it to close at 10pm, and prospective tenants were finding that restrictive. We prepared and lodged the application to extend trading to midnight, together with backlit signage and a small outdoor seating area within the building’s loggia. No objections were lodged, the Council notified its decision to grant in June, and the final grant of permission issued on 20 July 2026.
Conditions on hours of operation are easy to overlook when a permission is first secured, but they can determine whether a commercial unit lets at all. If a condition is holding a unit back, we’re happy to talk through the options.
